Government documents
Publications from many national, provincial (territorial or state) and municipal (region, city, town) governments - and from most international government organizations - can be found on the Internet, with a simple Google search. But not all publications are online and most often, there are just too many results in a Google search, to sift through them properly. For a more controlled searching experience or for finding documents that have been gathered together based on a subject or jurisdiction theme, try the following for your searches:
Canada

- Include geographic location (e.g. Canada, Ontario) as an author

Statistical databases
- UNData
- Large, comprehensive statistical database covering all countries of the world. Pulls together statistics from all the major UN sources.
- United Nations Statistical Databases
- Includes demographics, social indicators, vital statistics, disability and national accounts.
- OECD iLibrary
- Access to books, journals, reports, papers and other resources from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
- World Development Indicators
- Development data from more than 200 countries.
- World Factbook
- Information on countries of the world prepared by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.
