Overview
The Social Work Library is located on the lower level of Laurier's Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work building in Kitchener. It supports research activity in areas of Social Work practice and policy. The Library houses more than 3,600 items.
The Library is open for OneCard access during the hours shown below. Library staff are on-site Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00am to 6:00pm to provide assistance.
Building Space
The Library is open during building hours with OneCard entry for students and faculty with access to the building. Library staff are available on specific days to provide assistance and check out books. When not staffed, books are available for in-library use only.
Library Help
The Library provides a Chat Service with library staff. You can email libraryhelp@wlu.ca for assistance or phone the Library Help desk at 548-889-5237 during staffed library hours.

Resources
The Library houses a small collection of print books and other materials. Material from other campus libraries and other participating universities can be requested through Omni. You can visit the libraries in-person or request them to be delivered to Social Work or one of the Library’s other locations. We also provide a Mail on Demand service where we will ship the material directly to you. Articles and chapters can be requested through the Scan on Demand service.
The Library has many online resources, books, articles and videos. These can be accessed by current students, staff and faculty. You can search for specific databases, or for specific journals, or search within Omni. View the Social Work Subject Guide for more information.
Course Readings are available through Ares, often via a link in your course in MyLearningSpace.

Public Transit
The Social Work Library is located two blocks from the Grand River Transit terminal at 15 Charles Street West (Charles Street Terminal). It is accessible by foot, or by a number of bus routes departing from the terminal. Please visit the Grand River Transit website for schedules and route information.
Parking
Students
Students at the Faculty of Social Work in Kitchener may purchase permits through Laurier to park at the City of Kitchener parking garage at Charles and Benton Streets. The parking permits will be honoured at the Waterloo campus in the white permit areas only at no additional cost. See Parking Permits: Kitchener for information about how to apply.
Accessible Parking
Students who require accessible parking must contact the Accessible Learning Centre. There are two designated accessible parking spaces at the College street lot (Social Work campus) for visitors or temporary parking. The College Street entrance is wheelchair accessible.
