The ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) database is provided by the U.S. Department of Education to give access to educational related literature. ERIC was created as an online combination of two print journals: Resources in Education (RIE) and Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE). Both journals provide access to about 14,000 documents and more than 20,000 journal articles per year. In addition, ERIC provides coverage of conferences, meetings, government documents, theses, dissertations, reports, audiovisual media, bibliographies, directories, books and monographs. ERIC is also freely available through the U.S. Department of Education's platform. In fact, full text for ERIC documents are linked from the ProQyuest version to the DoE's version.
