Interface change: All EBSCOhost resources saw a major change to the interface in July 2026. Personal accounts on that platform should be transferred over with minimal disruption. For an overview of new features, please review the following 4 and half minute video tutorial [opens in a new window].

Historical Abstracts provides coverage of world history (excluding Canada and the United States) from 1450 to the present. [For historical information on Canada and the United States, refer to America: history and life]. Currently more than 2,000 journals published throughout the world are covered in the database. In addition to including the key historical journals from most major countries, Historical Abstracts includes a targeted selection of hundreds of journals in the social sciences and humanities that of special interest to researchers and students of history. The database also includes citations to historical book reviews as well as abstracts of historical dissertations completed worldwide. Includes items published between 1954 and the present. For American and Canadian information, see "America: History and Life".
