Data and Statistics: Introduction

This is a guide to Canadian socioeconomic statistics and data resources.  Data resources include granular microdata where individual responses or facts are recorded as distinct variables, usually in tabular format.  Statistics are the outcome of data analysis.  Whereas a datapoint may identify a value or fact (e.g, "Respondent 10 is unemployed". a statistic will answer a question "How many people identify as unemployed?"
