Accessibility (Online)

All Laurier students, faculty and staff with disabilities may contact the Laurier Library's Accessibility Services staff for assistance.

Research assistance (Telephone service not available during Covid-19 closure. Email is available)

A telephone or email research service is available for online learning students with a disability. Research assistance may involve help with searching the library's catalogue, and help with using the library's electronic and print reference tools.

You are advised to arrange for this assistance by making an appointment with the Library's Accessibility Services staff (see contact above).

Specialized article search tools by topic are also available.

Video tutorials

The library has created a selection of short video tutorials on a variety of topics related to library research.

Accessible Content E-Portal (ACE)

Accessible Content E-Portal (ACE) is a platform that provides access to a collection of books that have been digitized and made available online in accessible forms for universities participating in the service.

Note that you must be registered with the Laurier Accessible Learning Centre in order to obtain the required token for ACE access.

Borrowing privileges

In addition to standard borrowing privileges, students who are registered with the Accessible Learning Centre are granted extended loan periods if required (regular loan period is two weeks). A signed letter from the Accessible Learning Centre is required.

Mailing costs apply for all online learning students who are unable to visit the campus to borrow books.
