Option 1: Searching current news source aggregators

  • Go to News Articles
    • (Note: from the Library homepage, the path is Resources > More Research Materials > News Articles)
  • Expand the section Current News Sources
  • Select Canadian News @ ProQuest
  • Run searches as suggested in class
     

Option 2: Searching individual local lewspapers

  • As in search above, start at News Articles page
  • Expand the section on Local Newspapers
  • You'll see a number of different options for local papers. You'll likely want to focus on:
    • Waterloo Region Record
    • Waterloo Chronicle
  • TIP: Use the "Anywhere" field to search in the ProQuest Historical Newspapers versions; the default NOFT search won't work
  • The Observer is an independent newspaper published out of Elmira that covers events in Wellesley township.
    • The Library does not have a subscription
    • Some articles are open access but many are not
