Accessing Laurier Brantford library buildings

Digital Library and Learning Commons (DLLC) in Grand River Hall

  • The Digital Library and Learning Commons (DLLC) in Grand River Hall can be reached by taking the elevators down to the first floor
  • DLLC entrances are accessible

Brantford Public Library (BPL)

  • The library entrance from Colborne Street is accessible
  • The rear entrance to the library has an accessible ramp
  • Accessible washrooms are located on all floors, with the exception that there is no washroom for men on the lower floor
  • Please check the website for current BPL opening hours

Adaptive technologies at BPL

The following adaptive technologies are available at the Brantford Public Library:

  • Merlin Ultra enhanced vision machine – 1st floor, Main branch
  • JAWS (Job Access with Speech) screen reading computer and software – 1st floor, Main branch
  • SARA (Scanning And Reading Appliance) device – 1st floor, Main branch
  • Self-checkout machines that raise and lower at both branches

You can book an appointment for assistance with one of the Brantford Campus librarians.

Group study rooms

Rooms can be reserved for group study at Brantford Public Library. An up to date Brantford Public Library card is required to book a room. Cards are available from the BPL at no cost for Brantford students.

For accessibility assistance at the DLLC in Grand River Hall, contact the Brantford Campus librarians.

Emergency procedures and fire safety

Fire Safety Plans and Emergency Procedures are available in accessible formats upon request from Laurier's Environmental/Occupational Health & Safety department.
