This is a searchable archive of leading women’s interest magazines, dating from the 19th century through to the 21st. The content covers topics such as family life, home economics, health, careers, fashion, culture, and many more; serving multiple research areas, from gender studies, social history, and the arts, through to education, politics and marketing/media history. Their policy is to include each issue from volume 1, issue 1 through to a termination point of 2005 and to scan from cover to cover. Due to the rarity of some of the original print volumes, however, there are small gaps (issues or pages) in the runs of each publication.
As with other ProQuest databases, there is a basic keyword search available, and the advanced search allows for Boolean combination of multiple fields such as full text, author, document title, publication title, ISSN, etc. Advanced search limits include publication dates, author, publication title, publication subject, document type, document feature, and place of publication.
Laurier Library has provided access to module I of this archive since April 2023, through a deal directly with the vendor ProQuest.
