Films on demand : world cinema

The collection shines a light on the history of cinema while also providing a glimpse into the cultures and issues of countries worldwide—making it useful beyond film studies departments by bringing value to programs in area studies, political science, history, world languages, and more.

Within the "subject" category of "World Cinema" on the Films on Demand platform, there are sub-categories for many different regions as well as different lists for classic versus contemporary cinema within some regions. You can also simple search for films by title (or other keywords) there is a simple advanced search to search using the Boolean operators AND, OR, and NOT.

Laurier Library has provided access to this collection since July 2020. We also provide access to the "Humanities & social sciences collection" and the "Entertainment Canada collection" on Films on demand.
