Originally drawing on "The Dictionary of Art" published in 1996, and based on the 2007 print version, this product is a valuable reference resource for the visual arts of the Classical period, from Cycladic, Minoan, Helladic, and Etruscan art to the fall of the Roman Empire. It includes biographical information and thematic entries on such topics as architecture, ceramics, metalwork, mosaics, painting and sculpture. Like other works on the platform, this resource can be browsed by topic, or searched with basic keywords or through the advanced search function which allows searching by title, heading, full text, captions, contributer, ISBN and more, with limits for broad categories of entry type.
