Add the proxy prefix to a resource URL
This function adds the proxy prefix to a resource URL so that it will work off campus.
Explanation
Some URLs for resources in the Laurier Library collection will already have part (which includes "libproxy") needed to ensure that the resource can be used from off campus. However, that's not always the case, especially if you copy the URL for the resource while you're on campus.
For links to Laurier Library electronic resources (like ebooks, journals, streaming videos or music) to work wherever the patron is, you can use this function to attach the part that will check if they're on campus or not and, if not, make sure they're signed in.
Instructions
Just find a persistent URL for the resource (which isn't always the URL in the browser's address bar) and copy it into the box below, then select "Create link".
Warning
This will only work for resources that are in the Laurier Library collection already. If the URL used is not recognized by the system when it's used, an error message will be displayed. If you're not sure if the URL you want to use will work, please email the eresources team.
