Feeling Sound: Artists-Led Presentation and Discussion

Start Date:

End Date:

Where:

Robert Langen Art Gallery, Main Floor, Laurier Library

Presented by the Laurier Library EDI Committee, in partnership with the Robert Langen Art Gallery, and through support from Faculty Relations, we invite you to join us for an artists presentation. This participatory event offers an exhibition walkthrough led by artists David Bobier and Jim Ruxton and invites attendees to engage with audio information, such as voice, music, or sound effects through tactile vibrations. This transformative experience allows visitors to feel the music or sound through physical touch.

David Bobier is a hard-of-hearing, disabled media artist whose work centers on multi-modal artmaking and accessible vibrotactile technology.

Jim Ruxton, an artist and engineer with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and training from OCAD, bridges technology and the arts through installation, performance, theatre, dance, and film.

The event has limited capacity. If you wish to cancel your registration or have further questions please contact melayyan@wlu.ca
