Liaison Program Goals

Liaison librarians provide a vital service often described as the communication bridge between the library system and the departments they serve. These are goals liaison librarians are working towards.

The Liaison (Subject) Librarian Program, as part of the whole library, is committed to:

  • Connecting with students and faculty in subject areas to serve as a primary point of contact.
  • Advancing academic excellence by providing high-quality reference assistance, library instruction, and research support.
  • Integrating library instruction into course and program level curricula.
  • Supporting in-person, online, and multi-campus learners by providing equitable and timely service.
  • Developing and managing library collections.
  • Communicating and collaborating with the Library, the University, and external partners.
  • Promoting the library’s resources and services.
  • Providing inclusive and accessible resources and services.
