Laurier Library Brantford Project

The Laurier Library Brantford project is redeveloping an existing space with tech, study rooms, staff support, and curated resources for students and faculty.

Taking place in 2025-26, the Library is improving its service to the Brantford Campus. The Library is revitalizing the current space in Grand River Hall by adding collections, a Hawk Locker, improving study space, adding staff, and rebranding as Laurier Library Brantford.

As part of this project, our partnership with the Brantford Public Library will end on December 31st and Laurier’s books will be relocated. More details to come on how you can borrow items from Brantford Public Library starting in January.

Check back for more details as they become available.

Now Open!

Laurier Library Brantford is now open! Stop by and see the space and meet library staff and browse the print collection, books, games and education kits.

All books and physical library collections will be borrowed and returned from this location.

Staff are there to help you with all things library, searching and finding resources, borrowing, accessible materials, and more.

Overview of Project

Dedicated Library Space at Brantford

To better serve the evolving needs of Laurier Brantford students and faculty, the Laurier Library is redeveloping the Digital Library and Learning Commons (DLLC) on Floor 1 of Grand River Hall to become Laurier Library Brantford — a purposefully designed space offering enhanced services and resources.

This new space marks a strategic shift in how Laurier delivers library services. With easier access to digital resources through Omni, added self-serve technology and in-person support, Laurier Library Brantford is designed to be a vibrant, student-focused environment that supports learning, research and teaching.

Key changes include:

  • New furniture, group study rooms, equipment and technology
  • On-site staff for personalized support
  • A curated collection of books and games
  • Books requested through Omni available through new Hawk Locker

This refreshed library space reflects Laurier’s commitment to academic excellence and a welcoming, flexible learning environment.

Thank you to everyone who attended the consultation sessions for this project. Your input helped shape the vision for these exciting changes. More details on the transition from Brantford Public Library services will be shared soon.
