Lift Series Exhibition: Question or Answer?

Published:

The Laurier Library is proud to announce the launch of a dynamic new community photography exhibition, Question or Answer? featuring the captivating street and architectural works of three acclaimed Waterloo Region artists: Stephen Edgar, Joe Martz, and Rob Waldeck.

Running throughout the 2025-26 academic year on floors 4, 5 and 6 of the Laurier Library (Waterloo Campus), the exhibition brings together images that actively explore the complexities of our everyday lives. Prompting viewers to notice the often uncontrolled and overlooked world right around us.

The exhibition is part of the LIFT series, a community outreach program that helps shine a spotlight on the amazing creative talents in the Region of Waterloo.

Question or Answer? brings together three local photographers who explore the complexities of life; finding beauty, observations, and humour in our ever-changing environments," said Suzanne Luke, University Art Curator, RLAG.

  • Stephen Edgar's series, The Mason, features street photography spanning 25 years and five continents, guided by light and the quiet reminder that – we are not the centre, but part of a wider pulse.
  • Joe Martz presents AR Underpass, an atmospheric series that reinterprets urban underpasses, often viewed as cold or bland as places with "a bit more vibrance and life."
  • Rob Waldeck’s series Small-Shifting in Time, explores themes of displacement and vulnerability, gradually evolving into a narrative of hope and community connection.

Exhibition Reception with the Artists Wednesday, October 29 from 7-9pm.

Visitors are welcome to view the exhibition during the library's operational hours.
