Adaptive and accessibility

The Laurier Library offers a variety of adaptive and accessible technologies for persons with disabilities. These include:

  • Large screen monitor (2nd and 3rd floor of Waterloo campus library)
  • Optelec Reader enlarges print text. (3rd floor of Waterloo campus library)
  • A campus-wide site license gives access to Kurzweil and Zoom Text at workstations throughout the library (a password from the Accessible Learning Centre is required)
  • Headphones and adjustable chairs available upon request
  • Height adjustable workstations on 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors of Waterloo campus Library
  • Self-service scanner (open area of the Digital Studio)
  • High speed scanner (training from the Accessible Learning Centre and advance booking required)
  • Digital Studio access is provided on a self-help basis. (Assistance is available by appointment: contact librarydigitalstudio@wlu.ca)
