Join us for the Climate Action Week Panel

An overview of the climate action panel discussion on November 8, 2023

Are you concerned about our shared climate future? Join us for a panel discussion to learn about climate-action research and initiatives happening at Laurier. The panelists for this online Zoom event are:  

  • Danve Castroverde, an Assistant Professor in Biology investigating how environmental factors influence plant immune responses at the molecular level in order to better understand and improve plant resilience  
  • Bryce Gunson, a doctoral candidate in Geography and a project manager at Resilient Communities Research Collaborative with areas of expertise in climate change adaptation, environmental justice and maple syrup  
  • Robert McLeman, a Professor in the Department of Geography & Environmental Studies studying the human dimensions of climate change with a particular focus on environmental human migration
  • Denise Springett, a doctoral candidate in the Department of English and Film Studies who has led and supported various initiatives at the Sustainability Office on slow fashion and menstrual equity  

Each panelist will be given 10 minutes to speak followed by a Q & A discussion moderated by Eric Meliton from the Sustainability Office.

This event is a collaboration between Laurier Library, Laurier Sustainability Office, and WLUFA Climate Action Committee to celebrate the Ontario Library Association’s Climate Action Week (November 4-10).
