Overview

People interact with computers in a variety of ways. Amongst the blind community, screen readers are one way of interacting with computers. In this session, attendees will learn the basics of screen readers, including some common myths.  Both sighted and blind members of the community are encouraged to attend and to share their experiences and knowledge.

This is a hybrid event. Access requires a Zoom account. If you don't have a Zoom account, please contact mweiler@wlu.ca

The session will be hybrid, hosted via Zoom and in-person at the Waterloo campus library.

  • Automated captions will be available through Zoom, although captioning may not be able to keep up with screen reader speech.
  • Zoom phone-in option is available 
  • Use Zoom’s default shortcut keys or customize them for participating
