Online: Link emailed to participants

PubMed is one of the most popular ways to search the medical literature but there are a few tricks to getting the most out of it. The first 40-45 minutes of this workshop will take you through the various features of PubMed including how to create an account, build a search using MeSH, use field, truncation, phrase and proximity searching, and save searches and export results. The final 15-20 minutes will be for you to ask questions and (hopefully) get answers to any PubMed challenges you have been experiencing.

By the end of the workshop, you'll be able to:

  • Identify and use relevant Medical Subject Headings (MeSH),
  • Limit your search to specific fields,
  • Use truncation, and phrase searching,
  • Understand the new proximity search feature,
  • Save searches and export results.
