The Joan Mitchell Travel Award supports researchers travel to the Archives and Special Collections.
The Laurier Library recognizes the importance of archival research for the advancement of knowledge. To reflect this value, the Laurier Library created the Joan Mitchell Travel Award.
The purpose of the award is to support researchers wishing to travel to Laurier Archives and Special Collections to conduct original research using archives, special collections, and rare books.
On-site access allows for deep engagement with the archival and rare book collections and to work closely with archives staff to access our materials.
The award was created in honour of Joan Mitchell, the first Head of Archives and Special Collections at Laurier.
