Scholars Commons: Laurier's Institutional Repository

Start Date:

Online via MS Teams: Connection information will be e-mailed one day before the event.

Scholars Commons is the Laurier Library's open access repository of faculty publications and graduate theses and dissertations. Researchers can often meet their Tri-Agency open access requirements by submitting a copy of their articles to Scholars Commons for long-term preservation and access. This helps disseminate knowledge by removing paywalls. What you deposit into Scholars Commons is findable and accessible on Google and more.

In this webinar, we'll explain what Scholars Commons is, what it holds, and the steps you'll take to deposit a copy of your open access article. We'll untangle the differences between preprints, accepted manuscripts, and versions of record, as well as the kinds of open access and why it matters. We will contextualize all of this within the pending changes to the Tri-Agency Open Access Policy in January 2026.

Accessibility Features

  • Automated captioning available through MS Teams
  • A recording and slidedeck will be circulated after the webinar.
