Your subject librarian & other Library help Your Subject Librarian Every department or program has a subject librarian who specializes in that area. Your subject librarian is your main support for your research or teaching activities and can help you with using Library resources effectively for your research, and by supporting your students through research consultations and research skills instruction and workshops. Research support How to borrow or use our collections Use your OneCard to borrow any of the circulating material from our collection. Online resources are available on or off campus through your network login. Read our borrowing policies for faculty. Borrowing books Omni contains books from the Laurier Library and 17 other participating Ontario libraries. You can request books through Omni from Laurier or any of the other Omni libraries for pickup at any Omni library. See Borrowing services for details. As soon as you are able to before classes start, just send a word document of citations to libreserves@wlu.ca and we'll take care of sourcing, prepping, and copyright clearing the readings for you. Our course reserves system, Ares, also automatically integrates into MyLS via the Course Reserves tab so your students can access the readings for all of their courses from one centralised location. Research instruction for your students Your subject librarian can deliver workships and instruction, in person or online, to help improve your students' research skills. We can also create customized online guides and tutorials, and support your students in other ways including: Providing online MyLearningSpace content that you can use in your course, including our Understanding Plagiarism module. Providing personalized support from within your course in MyLearningSpace. We can upload relevant Library resources and instructional content, alert students to Library services through email, or answer student questions through discussion boards.
