Bio

Anne is Senior Editor at WLU Press. She acquires projects for the press in a variety of subject areas. Anne has spent over 25 years in in the scholarly publishing sector. She began her career at Broadview Press as a sales representative, eventually becoming Executive Editor. In 2008 Anne was part of a group of Broadview employees that joined University of Toronto Press to launch a new Higher Education Division. In her time as Executive Editor at UTP, Anne acquired titles in the social sciences and curated the Teaching Culture blog, while  launching a number of innovative initiatives, most notably, ethnoGRAPHIC, a groundbreaking series of peer-reviewed, scholarly graphic novels. After leaving UTP, Anne worked as a scholarly communications consultant, providing manuscript development, coaching, and representation for scholars interested in pursuing more creative and public-facing work. In 2022, she served as the Community Convenor for Libraria’s Cooperate for Open initiative, helping build a mutual aid network for small, scholar-led, open access journals in the social sciences.
