The Library purchases print and electronic journals, books, databases, government documents, music scores, and various audio and visual media. The decision to purchase is primarily the responsibility of the liaison librarian in consultation with a faculty liaison from each academic department. Decisions to add materials to the Laurier Library depend on factors such as relevance to curriculum and/or research, cost, and availability. Budgets are finite and requests must be prioritized. You will be contacted before a request for a subscription or an expensive item is processed. For more information on selection and ordering, please contact the liaison librarian assigned to your department.
For long lists of requests, contact your faculty liaison or liaison librarian
Note: Depending on the place and date of publication, the order may take weeks to be received and catalogued. An expedited service will be used if the book is required for course readings.
