Omni Library Book Renewals

For Library users who have Laurier Library books signed out that were due back on September 10, your books have been automatically renewed and are now due on January 8, 2021. No additional action is required on your part.

Book Returns: As a reminder, the Library is open to accept the return of all materials. For more details on return locations and availability, please refer to the appropriate campus location on the Books to Go page.

Potential Parking Lot Disruptions for Books to Go Users

To all Faculty, students and staff who require parking to access the Library’s Books to Go delivery service for pick up tomorrow, Thursday August 13, 2020. The University will have contractor on-site completing annual maintenance and repair work to parking areas on the Waterloo campus including DAWB Lot P14.

Alternative short-term parking for Books to Go users only can be found in Lot P13 (adjacent to lot P14) accessible off of Bricker Avenue.

Books to Go Unavailable Tuesday August 4, University Closed

The Books to Go delivery service will not be available on Tuesday August 4, 2020 as the University will be closed.

Regular delivery service schedule will resume Thursday August 6.

Library Launches Books to Go Service to Access Print Collections

The Library's new Books to Go service is now providing access to limited print collections.

Books to Go Service

As part of phased re-opening of services, the Library will be providing access to our print and physical collections through the use of contactless delivery by van (the ‘Bookmobile’) to pre-determined pick up locations for each campus. The Books to Go service is being made available to all Laurier faculty, students (graduate and undergraduate) and staff.

Library Omni Search Maintenance - Sunday July 12, 2020

On Sunday July 12th the Library's Omni Discovery service will undergo maintenance by our vendor. During this time users may experience minor interruptions. Following the maintenance window we anticipate that changes will be present in Omni search features and results.

Empty Bowls Online Event

The Robert Langen Art Gallery will be hosting an online edition of their long-running Empty Bowls fundraiser for The Foodbank of Waterloo Region. The event is May 19, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and tickets are available at Eventbrite.

Laurier mourns the loss of beloved colleague Julia Hendry

The Laurier Library is deeply saddened by the passing of our Julia Hendry, Head of Archives and Special Collections. Our condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. A service for Julia will be held Monday, April 6 at 1 p.m. via live-stream.

March 31st every year is the "International Transgender Day of Visibility". It's about celebrating trans people and their contributions to society, and raising awareness of the discrimination they face around the world. Laurier Libraries and Access to Eresources

The Library’s eresources (ebooks, databases, journals, streaming videos, etc.) continue to be available off-campus through logging in with your Laurier network authentication.

In this unprecedented time, publishers and vendors are also responding to the call and making resources available in different ways. For example, ebooks in ProQuest Ebook Central, one of our main platforms, will be open for unlimited access, for a limited time.

The Library is working to provide discoverability to these eresources but most of these free access points will be found outside of Omni.
