The Laurier Library is piloting a new Scan on Demand service which will provide users with the ability to request digital scans from books or journals from the Library’s print collection on Waterloo campus at this time.
This service is being made available initially to Laurier faculty and Graduate students during the Fall 2020 semester as part of a pilot project starting October 20. Expansion of the service will be planned based on pilot outcomes.
How Scan on Demand works:
The Scan on Demand service is fully integrated with the Library's Omni search interface and is designed to provide seamless requesting for scans from books or journal articles.
- Users must be logged in to Omni to be presented with the scan on demand option
- Requests for scans are placed in Omni (see How to Get a Scan)
- Scanned items will be delivered via email (Laurier authentication is required to access the documents)
Please note that the scanning will be done within the parameters of Laurier’s Access Copyright Agreement, or University’s Fair Dealing Guidelines when the works requested for scanning fall outside of Access Copyright Repertoire. The Library staff will manage all the necessary copyright related matters as they work on scanning your request.
For more information on how to access and use this service, including lists of which resources are included, please see the Scan on Demand service page.
