Waterloo campus Library renovations nearing completion

It was a busy summer of renovations at the Library’s Waterloo campus location in particular. This work is now largely completed, with the final stages of some projects scheduled to wrap up in September.

Library workshops for faculty and graduate students

In conjunction with the ASPIRE Program, the Laurier Library is offering a series of workshops to help you and your graduate students streamline your research process. These informal, practical sessions cover a range of topics, including the following:

  • How to Meet TriCouncil Management Policies
  • Citing Insights: Tools to Help you Cite
  • Finding Government Policy & Its Analysis
  • Systematic Reviews 101

Sessions are offered at the Waterloo Campus Library and online via webcast.

Library summer renovations update

Renovations continue. The installation of energy efficient lighting throughout the Waterloo campus Library will lead to lighting disruptions in localized areas as new lights are installed.

Attention faculty: use ARES to submit your course readings

Ares Course Reserves allows faculty to place materials on reserve for a course, both in print or electronic form. Students enrolled in the course have access to electronic content 24/7. Course readings are integrated into MyLearning Space.

Submit early and material will be available for students for the beginning of classes. If we need to order the material recall it from a patron, it could take 2 weeks or more.

The Digital Library and Learning Commons is closed through the summer for renovations to improve energy efficiency.

New Robert Langen Art Gallery facility to open in Laurier’s Waterloo campus Library for September 2016

A new home for the Robert Langen Art Gallery will be created in the southeast corner of the main floor of Laurier’s Waterloo campus Library.

Laurier librarian presents to House of Commons committee

The House of Commons Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy, and Ethics invited Mark Weiler (Laurier's Web and User Experience Librarian) to present on reforms to the Access to Information Act.

Reserves: Intersession and Summer Session

Faculty members: submit your readings now for Intersession and Summer Session 2016. When submitting readings, it is a good idea to tag them by week so that the reserve staff are able to prioritize requests and ensure that materials will be ready for your students at the beginning of the term.


Brantford Public Library Closed May 2nd

Apr 21, 2016 -

The Brantford Public Library will be closed Monday, May 2nd for a staff development day, reopening Tuesday morning.

The Digital Library and Learning Commons will remain open, and Laurier’s Brantford campus Librarians will also be available to students and faculty as per their normal hours. Click here for more information regarding our Brantford services and librarians.
