Changes to Using the Library Buildings

Based on the University’s announcement on key COVID-19 changes following provincial updates, the Library is announcing the following changes to the use of our spaces.

Highlights:

  • Distancing and capacity restrictions are no longer in place; this means:
    • All seating in the Library has been restored
    • Masks are required and Laurier’s face-covering policyremains in place
    • You are permitted to work in groups
    • Group study rooms can be booked and used by more than one user
    • Access to seating and resources on the Third floor of Waterloo Library will be opened starting Monday March 7
  • Graduate Commons study area and lounge on the third floor is now open during building opening hours (access by One Card)
  • Food and drink are allowed in the Library following University guidelines
    • Masks can be removed briefly while actively eating or drinking (and placed back on when not actively eating or drinking)
  • All book stacks and most collections at Waterloo and Kitchener are available

In Brantford, the Digital Library and Learning Commons (DLLC) continues to be accessible for use as study space. The Brantford Public Library continues to provide access to print collections and borrowing services.
