Collections

  • Film Studies and Music videos.  Kept at the 2nd floor service desk.  Check the Primo Catalogue.
  • Videos placed on Reserve at the request of instructors.  Check the Reserve Catalogue.
  • Videos from Media Technology Resources.  Currently being catalogued in Primo.  In the meantime, check Media Catalog (formerly known as Watmedia), which searches across Ontario institutions.  Videos are housed on the 4th floor.
  • Other videos at the Laurier Library.  Housed on the 4th floor.  Check the Primo Catalogue.
  • Videos listed in Primo and housed at other locations, such as UW and UG, may be viewed at those locations

Borrowing Videos

  • Sign out all videos at the 2nd floor service desk

Students

  • Videos for Film Studies and Music may be borrowed for three hours for in-library use
  • Videos on Reserve: three hours, in-library use
  • Other videos: one day loan

Faculty

  • Videos with performance rights may be borrowed for one week
  • Videos marked "For Private Study Only" may be borrowed for one day

 Viewing Videos

  • View videos in the library at workstations on the 4th floor
  • Videos may be shown in the classroom unless marked "For Private Study Only"
  • Videos are for non-commercial use only
  • Faculty may use the video request form to book videos for viewing
    • Book at least 10 days ahead

Booking Equipment

Charges for Overdue, Lost and Damaged Videos

  • Overdues: $20 a day, to a maximum of $100
  • Lost items: a replacement fee of $300 will be applied to the borrower's account.  Items are listed as lost after 60 days
  • Fees for damaged items will be assessed at the time of return
