The preferred method of integrating course readings (reserves) with the MyLearningSpace platform is by notifying the Teaching Support Services department through the MyLearningSpace course intake form. The alternative approach, intended for courses created before the amendment to the intake form, is to follow the steps below.
The configuration process should take less than 5 minutes, and if you have any problems, please email the Library Digital Initiatives team.
Step 1: Log into MyLearningSpace
Using your Laurier Network Login username and password, log into MyLearningSpace.
Step 2: Select your course and view content resources
After selecting your course, click on the Content link under the Resources top-level navigation bar.
Step 3: Create a new file
Under the New menu in the desired content section, click Create a File.
Step 4: Switch to the HTML source code editor
After entering a title (e.g., Course readings on reserve), click the HTML Source Editor button in the bottom-right corner of the file editor window.
Step 5: Insert the HTML source code
Insert the following HTML source code into the editor.
Step 6: Verify output of course readings
Click on the new link and verify that the output is correct.
Please be aware of the following caveats while interacting with course readings in MyLearningSpace:
- A second authentication step is required into the course readings system (Ares) to view content
- The report will display items for all sections of a given course - it is not possible to only show items for your course if there are counterparts
