The two-channel video accompanied by multiple overlapping voice overs, Orasyon (Vespers) takes form as a nonlinear diaristic video essay that recite, rearticulate and re-imagine stories of his early encounter within the Canadian landscape. Like an identity that could not be located, Orasyon (Vespers) aims to reorient and complicate our position as viewers as a means of reconciling the conflicting environments between cultures, traditions, and sensibilities.

LIFT: Unobstructed Beauty
Marion R. Anderson | Anne Filiatrault | Lauren Judge
The beauty of natural forms can delight our senses, and spark the feelings of wonderment and amazement. These emotional responses are often triggered by our visual observation of majestic magnitude, delicacy of forms and the intriguing simplicity of structural shape. The natural beauty of a landscape can only reveal itself to an eye that understands how to take the time to look for it.
Unobstructed Beauty features three artists who take time to observe and explore natural forms in a diverse range of painting techniques. Each artist shares a narrative that invites viewers to reflect on how we perceive and experience our surrounding environment. Together these artists reveal the complex interconnections between the natural world and our human intellect.
