Register to Borrow and use Online Resources
Alumni may use alumni cards as their library cards (no fee).
- Obtain alumni cards through the Alumni Office
- Register your card at the Circulation/Reserve Desk (2nd Floor) or online
- Your patron registration is valid for one year and is renewable
- Once registered, you may access these online resources
Report lost cards to the Library. You are responsible for any transactions made before the card is reported lost.
Borrowing Privileges
- borrow items, including books and most government documents, for two weeks
In person
- borrow materials (a total of 20 items at a time) in person from the circulating collections of the three TUG libraries: Laurier, the University of Waterloo and the University of Guelph
- visit the Annex in person by arrangement
- view material from Archives and Special Collections Department (the material must remain in the department)
By request
- request items from the University of Waterloo, the University of Guelph, the Laurier Brantford collection and the Laurier Social Work collection. All of these items are listed in the Primo catalogue. For instructions, see Get Materials from Other Libraries
- request books and journal volumes (not journal articles) from the Annex storage facility
Alumni are not privileged to:
- request items from Laurier's main library
- recall items on loan from any Primo library location
- order materials on Interlibrary loan (RACER)
- borrow items on reserve
- book library group study rooms
Accessing Electronic Resources
- Alumni may access a growing list of online resources
- Alumni may also visit any of the TUG libraries and access electronic resources (journals, databases) on site
Patron Information: Library Account
Use the Primo Catalogue to:
- Renew materials
- Check personal information (Please report any changes to the Library)
- See list of books borrowed and due dates
- Review any fines owning
To receive library notices through electronic mail, when you register, give your email account to staff at the Circulation Desk. Three days before your two-week loan books are due, an e-mail reminder will be sent to your account. Report changes in personal information, such as changes of address, directly to the Library. Transferring Library Materials Between Patrons
If you have borrowed an item and wish to pass it along to another patron, bring the item to the Circulation Desk and have it signed out on the other patron's card. Patrons are responsible for all materials signed out on their cards.
